This Atlas was born by accident, without being planned or preconceived. The simple accumulation of maps, produced for the Desecrated Land 2 project was practically an invitation to compile and store them.

This group of maps continues to grow in quantity (there are now over 25 of them), in quality (that is our hope) and above all in usefulness (that is our aim).

Their objective is the same as it was when the first maps of the Desecrated Land 2 project were conceived, produced and processed: to help to illustrate the impacts of megaprojects on indigenous people and their territories in a graphic and georeferenced way.

The structure, content and formats will continue to evolve along with the Desecrated Land 2 project itself. If you need to obtain the maps in another resolution or another format, if you have comments, questions or you wish to point out an error, please contact carto@hrev.org
